A Later Alligator

Found this Fence Lizard on the trail at Torrey Pines sunning himself. I really enjoy the mosaic of colors on these guys including the baby blue spots. They're pretty fearless too, meaning that you can get close enough to take a picture without them running off.

the two lizards I've seen in this blog so far are more likely Sceloporus sp. Common name fence lizards. Gherronotus sp. are alligator lizards which have much smaller legs and usually half or more of body length is in tail.
