Found this moth perched on my mailbox. It was pretty tiny so the picture's not as sharp as I would like. Guess I should have hauled out the tripod but hey... Still, it's pretty cool. If this was sitting on a tree trunk you would never see it. However, on a black mailbox, it does kind of stand out. If you're a So Cal moth expert, feel free to suggest a name. While I look up bird names, I figured I'd just appreciate this little moth as a "moth."
Hi, I just stumbled across your blog and wanted to say hi. I am a new blogger and am tring to make some friends :) I am a fellow Hawaii lover, have been to Kauai 3 times and the big island once, and we are planning a tentative move to oahu in September of this year.... YAYYYYY~
ReplyDeleteOH MAN!! There was a HUUUUUUUUUGE moth/half bird? in my mailbox last week!! IT WAS GINORMOUS!! It was stuck between the letters--it freaked me out!! The last thing on my mind was to grab my camera, that's for sure! I've never been a fan of moths. I grew up with the instilled fear that moth dust would make you blind. Um, thanks family?
