Dewey Mornings Are Back

Mrs. Spider was up all night spinning that web and it's all foiled by the morning dew.  Visible webs means no food for Mrs. Spider...at least until they dry off!  Yes, the marine layer is back and those unseasonably dry days have eased off a little bit, making way for foggy, overcast mornings and dewy webs.

Spider Web Glistening with Morning Dew. Along the coast in Southern California, there is a night fog, the marine layer, that rolls in from the ocean and delivers moisture to the otherwise arid landscape. It coats everything with dew and nourishes a parched environment. It also coats spider webs, making their graceful symmetry visible to the eye as they glisten with sparkling water droplets.

Misty Morning, San Diego, California. The nice thing about that cool Southern California marine layer that coats everything with dew is....you can see the spider webs before you step into them! Hahahah. Smirk. Honestly, I think they're amazingly delicate and full of wonder as they sparkle in the morning sunlight. Still, not getting them stuck in your face is a side benefit.

A Sticky Situation

I saw this spider web glistening in the setting sun and had to snap a picture. There is something magical about sunrise and sunset in photography. Everything seems to just glow!
