Sea Nettle, Chrysaora fuscescens. Those beautiful tentacles are covered with thousands of stinging nematocysts (stinging cells) used to stun their prey. Dramatically beautiful but not fun to brush up against.

Nettlesome
Sea Nettle, Chrysaora fuscescens. Those beautiful tentacles are covered with thousands of stinging nematocysts (stinging cells) used to stun their prey. Dramatically beautiful but not fun to brush up against.
