This polar bear was rubbing his fur in the dirt and apparently having quite a good time of it. Here he is after the rub looking quite smug and satisfied. They claim that polar bears are quite intelligent. Perhaps there is something to the roll in the dirt thing, eh?
It has been HOT and HUMID lately. Perhaps we are spoiled in San Diego by the normally dry weather but the mugginess is making it hard to sleep at night. This Polar Bear at the San Diego Zoo has a nice refrigerated pool to dive into which he is making good use of. Hope you are "bearing" the Summer heat as well.
I wonder what that bear is thinking as he looks at the bedraggled dead bird he has been playing with and then looks at all the plump people on the other side of the glass? I wonder what that kid is thinking as the bear stops to take a look at him? There's a reason why that glass is so thick! One the the audience said he was there when the bear suddenly lept up and caught the bird out of mid-air. We can see there's not much left of it after an hour of the two bears playing keep away with it.
Whew. Rough day. Everything feels like it's going to hell in a handbasket at work. I suppose I should be working right now but I'm going to wish you a happy valentine's day instead! Hmmm maybe some V-Day poetry. Let's see...
