Epidendrum conopseum

Epidendrum conopseum, also known as Epidendrum magnoliae, is the most Northern growing epiphytic orchid in the Americas.  This is possible because of the warm ocean currents that flow up the Eastern seaboard of the United States.

Epidendrum conopseum. These are found from Florida all the way up through the Carolinas and are one of the more cold-tolerant epiphytic orchids available. This is the first bloom on this one. The flower is about the size of a fingernail.
